The winter dance recital sets the tone for the holiday season. The Marquettes and dance classes will perform in the auditorium Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The show will consist of ballet, lyrical, jive, contemporary and hip-hop routines that the students learned and rehearsed in class.
“It’s really stressful, trying to get down our choreography for all the dances,” Sophomore Antonio Oliver said. “It has also been hard because we’ve had to cram in this last dance routine before the show.”
The girls perform their annual jingle bell rock dance to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
“I think it’s cute,” Junior Sarah Lewis said. “I feel pretty good about this recital. I’m not nervous or anything.”
Dancers will dress up as Santa Claus, Rudolf, elves, Santa’s helpers, and toy soldiers.
“I’m excited about the dance recital,” Senior Emily Warren said. “It gives me energy for the Christmas holiday.”
