After school on Monday, September 24, the teacher parking lot looked more like a river than a parking lot. One of the construction workers, while drilling into the parking lot, hit a ten- inch pipe, causing water to gush out the hole and flow down the parking lot.
Several teachers’ cars were parked around the site of the drilling, including physics teacher, Mr. Jordan Thiem’s.
“It didn’t do any damage to my truck, just got the front grill and hood dirty,” Thiem said. “There were not any dents or anything though.”
Mr. Thiem went out to the parking lot to find out why this happened, after Ms. Hayley Finley told him his car was right next to the drilling site.
“The first guy that I talked to told me it was an accident,” Thiem said. “The second guy I talked to told me that one of the construction workers didn’t plan on drilling and didn’t tell anyone he was going to drill, and he hit a 10 inch pipe and drove off.”
Librarian Ms. Gavin, witnessed the flooding as well.
“I just saw this big giant machine with a spiral drilling in the ground, and then it looked like a river,” Gavin said. “It was very curious.”
