The UIL journalism team traveled to Highland Park last night to compete in districts. Six students competed in four categories, news, feature, editorial, and headline writing.

Catherine Festa placed first in news, and Hailey Kilgo placed fourth.

Jackie Harrison placed first in feature, Hailey Kilgo placed third, and Kayla Crowley placed sixth.

Kayla Crowley also placed second in editorial, Quinn Murray placed third, and Andrew Wilson placed fifth.

This is the journalism department’s second consecutive year to win districts. All students have advanced to regionals in Denton.
