Yearbook scores 9th championship in a row

AUSTIN. “The Lion 2014 won a Gold Star from the University Interscholastic Press Association in affiliation with the UIL. The Gold Star recognizes the best of student publications in the state. Other champions are listed on the UIL website.
The staff scored Tops in Texas in two of the categories.
Results for UIL’s Interscholastic League Press Conference’s 5A Individual Achievement Awards. In 34 categories, the yearbook staff won 1st in 13 categories; 2nd in five categories; 3rd in seven categories; honorable mention in 12 categories. Overall, we placed 37 slots. They award one first, one second, one third and up to four honorable mentions. The most we can enter per category is two and some allow only one entry. We were in the toughest division in the state.
The awards reflect 27 categories for the 2014 book and seven for the 2015 book that has not come out yet.
