On the first day of school, students were informed that the use of cell phones in the hallway would be prohibited.
This rule was created to allow the staff to communicate with the students better.
“We wanted to be able to engage with the kids in the hall. If we spoke to them, we would like them to speak back,” said Assistant Principal Jason Rainey.
Since put into place, this new rule has been reduced. Teachers are no longer allowed to confiscate students’ cell phones in the hallway.
“I’m glad they are loosening up on the cellphone rules,” said sophomore Lauren Anderson.
Although the rules concerning cell phones have changed, students still may not wear headphones in the halls.
“Absolutely no earphones still,” said Rainey.
Even though this rule is still being enforced to an extent, something is about to change.
“ You will hear something very soon concerning this rule,” Rainey said.
