Through Target’s “Take Charge of Education” program, MHS received $1200 in donations this past September.
This program was implemented in 1997 to help raise awareness for education and the need for school funding.
When registering for the REDcard, a credit card through Target, participators are given the opportunity to select a school to donate 1% of their purchases to.
With the card, only one school can be chosen to receive the donations however, there is the ability to change the school as often as needed.
For the entirety of the school year, donations are collected for each school and then Target gives it back at the end of September. So far, 26 million dollars have been donated this year.
